To learn how to setup the Zotero connector view the videos below - each is about 2 minutes long or scroll down for directions with screenshots.

The videos and directions below are for Google Chrome. Microsoft Edge has very similar steps but getting to the Options in Firefox is different.

First time setup

The first time you use your Zotero Connector, you will need to enable saving to Zotero.org. This setup needs to be done once per internet browser account. For example, if you only use Chrome, you will need to do this once for your Google Account. If you use Chrome and Firefox, you will need to do this twice - once for your Google Account and once for your Firefox Account.

  1.  Right-click on the Z icon and then select Options under "Save to Zotero.org" click Authorize.right click on the zotero icon to get to the options menu
  2. A pop-up window will appear. Login to Zotero.login to your zotero account

  3. Click Accept Defaultsaccept defaults

  4. Close that window. Now in your Options, "Saving to Zotero.org" is authorized.saving to zotero.org is now authorized

  5. Under the Proxies tab, it is suggested that you uncheck the box labeled " Enable Proxy detection" as it has been known to cause access issues.

Using the Connector

  1. The first time you click the Z icon after doing this setup - you will be prompted to "Enable Saving to Online Library"    enable saving to zotero.org

  2. You should now see the "Saving to Zotero.org" box appear after click on the Z icon.saving to zotero.org box should appear now when the Z icon is clicked
