An important division of the AMA, the Ethics Group works to improve patient care and the health of the public by examining and promoting physician professionalism. If you’re looking for guidance or insight to ethical issues in medicine today, the AMA Ethics Group offers relevant resources to help you.

ACP’s Center for Ethics and Professionalism is devoted to policy development, implementation and education on issues of medical ethics and professionalism, and is a resource for ACP members and the public.

The Office for Human Research Protections (OHRP) provides leadership in the protection of the rights, welfare, and wellbeing of subjects involved in research conducted or supported by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. OHRP helps ensure this by providing clarification and guidance, developing educational programs and materials, maintaining regulatory oversight, and providing advice on ethical and regulatory issues in biomedical and social-behavioral research.

The Office of Research Integrity (ORI) oversees and directs Public Health Service (PHS) research integrity activities on behalf of the Secretary of Health and Human Services with the exception of the regulatory research integrity activities of the Food and Drug Administration.
