I was recently reminded of this weaponization of intellectual property when I watched the trailer for Paul Dudbridge’s Fear the Invisible Man, a low-budget rendition of H.G. Wells’ classic story that many internet commenters were unfairly likening to a mockbuster when compared to the recent Invisible Man remake.
