Artificial Intelligence (AI)

As is the case when evaluating any piece of information, these are facets to consider not a checklist the material must pass. Consider the following points as you try and determine if a resource is ai generated.

Text

One: The text seems dry and predictable, it sounds generic.

Two: The information is generic and easily found online, it does not have many citations and those that are there are often cited incorrectly.

Three: The writing is repetitive.

Four: It is flagged by ai detection software, such as Turnitin.

Images and Videos

One: Is the image too wild to be true? If it is a celebrity or politician, have any major news outlets confirmed what you see in the picture?

Two: Is there anything odd or out of place? Do people have five fingers on each hand? Do eyeglasses blend into eyebrows? Are there strange artifacts on the walls or floors? Can you see distinct leaves on trees or do they blend together?

Three: Has the picture crossed the uncanny valley? Do the people seem plastic or fake looking? Are they too "perfect"?

Four: Does the picture have an airbrushed or smoothed effect? Are some areas highly detailed and other areas flat?
