Previously Reported & Resolved Issues

Artstor and off-campus access - reported 09/08/2022, resolves 10/07/2022

Resolution: Fixed with Alma update

When off-campus, and linking to an image in Artstor, the link will redirect to library.artstor.org instead of going to the specific image. However, after you Login for Library access, you can use the link from JETfind again and it will work. There is currently no fix for this. It is recommended that you search directly in Artstor or JSTOR if you are looking for images.

Journal of Clinical Nursing Content - reported 10/27/2021, fixed January 2023

JETfind search results of Journal of Clinical Nursing articles direct users to request the article from Interlibrary Loan instead of linking to the article even though full-text access to the article is available. Until this is fixed, direct patrons to search for Journal of Clinical Nursing in JournalFinder and to find the article through the journal website.

Journals from MedOne ComSci not appearing in the Journal Finder - reported 7/14/2021, no ETA for a fix

Resolution: Fixed with the May 2022 update

UPDATE: 12/7/2021 - there is an update planned that should remedy this situation in JETfind.

UPDATE: 10/13/2021 as a workaround these journals have been added to the Journal Finder; however, they are not available via the citation linker, or using libkey.io for DOIs

UPDATE: 5/11/2022 this should be resolved with the next system update which is scheduled for 5/15/2022

MedOne ComSci is one of the resources where it is better to go directly there than do a JETfind search. MedOne ComSci is mostly ebooks but there are 3 journals available in it. However, at this time, those journals are not listed in the Journal Finder. Besides going directly into MedOne ComSci, you can also find the direct links for these journals on the Databases by Subject: Communication Sciences and Disorders page.

Locked Active Filters and saved searches - reported 9/10/2021, resolved 11/29/2021

Resolution: This is the expected behavior - when switching between saved searches, it is important to clear your filters between each search.

There is an issue with locked active filters staying active if you switch between saved searches. At this time, please clear filters if you moving between saved searches.

ProQuest Central and several Ebsco databases are displaying embargoes incorrectly - reported 7/12/2021, fixed 10/6/2021

An embargo is a period of time that a database does not grant access to a journal and is usually represented as the most recent 18 months, year, 6 months, or 3 months. There are several journals across multiple databases where the embargo period is being displayed backwards so the journal is listed as having the most recent 18 months available when that is not the case. This affects not just the journal finder but also JETfind search results. Until it is fixed, please go into the database (which can be done from the journal finder) and you will see the correct embargo ranges.

For example, the Journal of Family Communication is listed in the journal finder as having the most recent 18 months available.

Yet if you click the link, to go into the Ebsco database, you will see that actual full-text access is from January 2001 up until 18 months ago.

Sage HSS 2018 Content - reported 7/12/2021, no ETA for a fix

Resolution: May 2022

UPDATE: 4/13/2022 This has been escalated to a higher support level but there is still no ETA for a fix

The journal finder (and JETfind search results) are not displaying several journals that we do have access to in Sage HSS 2018 collection, for example, Families in Society. Until this is fixed, go directly into the Sage Journal Collections to search.

Saved Searches and RSS feeds - reported 9/16/2021, resolved 10/12/2021

Resolution: 10/12/2021 per the vendor, this is the expected behavior and the RSS feature is not recommended at this time. There is further investigation into whether the RSS icon can be removed until the feature functions correctly.

There is an issue with RSS feed readers not working with this RSS feature. Please utilize the alert option which will email you (at your Molloy email address) when new items are available for your search. Click the alert bell icon, when it is a solid color, the alert is turned on.

Westlaw Content - reported 8/9/2021, resolved 12/7/2021

Resolution - JETfind will now display only the titles that are in the Westlaw collection. It is still recommended that users go directly to Westlaw to conduct their search.

Westlaw is one of the resources where it is better to go directly there instead of using JETfind. There is currently an issue where the Journal Finder is displaying journals that we do not have access to, this can also affect JETfind search results for articles. To see if Westlaw has a journal follow these steps:

  • Go directly to the Westlaw database
  • Click on secondary sources
  • Click on secondary sources index
  • Browse for the title you are looking for
