To access reserves that are held in the Ares system, simply log into Canvas.

Once there, if your course has reserves assigned by your professor you will automatically enter the Ares course home page.

Selecting reserve items within each course will lead you to the ARES system and some customizable options.

Main Menu – Finding your courses with your account and using the Hot List in Ares

Once you click Search Courses, a box appears on the right that allows you to search by Department, Instructor, or Course

By clicking on the class hyperlink in the Course column, you will be directed to the Course details page where you will find all of your Student Course Tools

**Remember to check with your professor first to make sure they are incorporating these features into your classes.

The Hot List stores selected reserve items for each course on one convenient list. You can add or delete new items as needed. To add items to your Hot List, check the boxes of the reserve items you’d like and then select Add checked items to Hot List.

Your Hot List can be accessed at any time by either clicking on My Hot List under Student Tools or clicking the Main Menu.

Note the different icons in the title column allow you to tell at a glance if it is an article, book or video.
