Placing a hold request on books

To request that specific books be held for you at the library:

  • Find the book in the library catalog by searching JETfind
  • You will need to sign in to your account in order to process the request

Note: only circulating items may be placed on hold. If you are looking at a book located in our reference collection, for example, the hold option will not appear.

  • Pull up the book's information by clicking on the title or the Available link
  • You will see a reminder to sign in and if the book is Available or not
  • You will only see the Place Hold link, if you are signed in

  • Select the loan period (most book have just 1 option), indicate when the bookal would no longer be needed, and add a comment if necessary. Remember to click Send Request.

  • If the item is already checked out, you will be placed in a waiting queue. You can see the status at any time by logging into your account, clicking on My Library Card or My Requests. You can also cancel your request in My Requests.
