Creating an ILLiad Account
Below are basic instructions for the one-time required setup of a patron account as well as an overview of the system itself.
From the library homepage, select the Interlibrary Loan link under Quick Links. To create an account, you need to click First Time Users, which is under the Login button.
New User Registration requires:
- First Name
- Last Name
- ID number
- email address
- daytime phone
- status
- address
Please note:
- The system will not accept personal email addresses - the email MUST end with either @lions.molloy.edu or @molloy.edu
- The 14 digit ID number is the number on the back of your Molloy ID (this is no longer a required field)
- Your Username can be anything you want! It is suggested that you make it the same as your Canvas username.
- You can choose to receive notifications via phone or email! Your preferences can be set during registration.
Once you have successfully completed your registration, your account will have to be cleared by a member of the Interlibrary Loan department.
- In order to be cleared, you must be a member of the Molloy community with a valid ID and have no other ILLiad accounts. You can make requests in the meantime, but they will not be processed until your account is cleared.
- Accounts are typically cleared within one business day and you will receive an email once it is.
